I became a Realtor because of what no one told me.
When my husband and I started thinking about buying our own first home, we ran into a completely different experience. Suddenly we were facing one of the biggest financial decisions of our lives — and I realized how little we actually understood about the process.
What should we look for in a home? How do you evaluate a property? What should we ask before making an offer? We had a Realtor — but we didn’t even know what questions to ask. No one had ever explained it in a way that made it feel manageable. I remember sitting at our kitchen table with a legal pad, trying to turn a stack of listing sheets into an actual decision, and thinking: there has to be a better way to do this.
That “better way” turned into a career change. I left a job I was good at but didn’t love, got licensed, and started doing for other first-timers exactly what I wish someone had done for us — slow down, explain the actual mechanics, and let people make the call once they understood it.
I’m not a big-team, volume Realtor — I keep my client list small on purpose, so I can still return a text on a Sunday and remember your situation without checking notes. Outside of work I’m usually touring a house I’m not even selling just to see how it’s laid out, or arguing with my husband about paint colors we’ll never agree on.
That kitchen-table moment is exactly why I do what I do now. No one should make a six-figure decision without first understanding what they’re signing up for.
Whether you’re moving in or moving on — it’s still home.
A few clients on the process — not just the closing day.
“Before we even looked at a single listing, Zeel sat down with us and mapped out our actual numbers — not just what the bank said we were pre-approved for. When it came time to make an offer, she walked us through three different ways to structure it and explained the trade-offs of each one in plain language. I never once felt like I was signing something I didn’t understand.”
“The inspection came back with more issues than we expected, and I was ready to panic. Zeel had already handled a dozen negotiations like it and knew exactly which items were worth pushing on and which ones weren’t worth the fight. She went back to the seller’s agent with a specific, well-reasoned ask instead of just a number — and kept us calm through the whole back-and-forth.”
“What stood out was how much Zeel communicated even when there wasn’t good news to share. Every counter-offer, every condition deadline, every question from the other side — she’d call and explain what it actually meant for us before we had to decide anything. It made a stressful process feel like we always knew what was happening and why.”
